How our service works

Stairlift Fitters does not make, sell or fit stairlifts. We are a small free service that puts people in touch with a stairlift installer near them. Here is everything that happens after you ask, in order.

  1. Tell us about the stairs

The shape of the stairs, whether you want to buy or rent, any funding you are applying for, and how to reach you.

  2. We look for an installer

One who covers your area, fits your kind of stairs and offers what you asked for, whether that is new, reconditioned or rental.

  3. We tell you who it is

Usually within one working day, by email or phone. Your details go to them only once you say so.

  4. Survey and written price

The installer surveys the stairs and gives you a written price. Saying yes or no is up to you; any agreement you sign is with the installer, not with us.

What we are

A small introduction service. Stairlift Fitters is a website, not a stairlift company: we build no lifts, send no engineers, and are unconnected to any firm with a similar name.

What we never do

  • Charge you anything, at any stage.
  • Pass your details on before you agree, or to more than the one installer we name.
  • Visit your home or tell you which stairlift is safe for you. Only a surveyor who has seen the stairs can.
  • Give financial or legal advice. Our notes on grants and VAT are general information.
  • Send you newsletters or sales calls.

Who pays for it

An installer we introduce may pay us a fee for the introduction. You pay us nothing, whether or not you go ahead with them.

If you are helping a relative

You are welcome to fill in the form on someone else’s behalf. Please check they are happy for you to do so, and give the contact details of whoever should arrange the survey.

Our prices and guides

Prices on this site come from Which? consumer research, published UK price guides and public contract records, and each page says where its figures come from and when we read them. They help you budget and compare; only an installer’s written quote after a survey is a price. Notes on grants and VAT are general information, not financial or legal advice.

Ask for stairlift quotes

Three short steps: where the stairs are, what they are like, and how to reach you. About two minutes. You can fill it in for a parent or relative.

  1. We look for a stairlift installer who covers your area and fits your kind of stairs.
  2. We tell you who it is. Your details reach them only if you say yes.
  3. They survey the stairs, free, and give you a written price.

Nobody contacts you until you say yes, and you can stop at any point.
